New interview with Barry Miles on Burroughs in London

There is a new interview with Barry Miles to commemorate an exhibition about WSB's time in London. The video interview is excellent. Among other things, Miles describes WSB puffing away on green cigarettes in London restaurants. The exhibition ought to be fantastic too. Somebody please go and report...

Bill Laswell on Bandcamp

A huge bunch of Bill Laswell's albums have been uploaded to Bandcamp. There are two with William Burroughs. There's a good Paul Bowles one too.

Uncle Howard

At Sundance Aaron Brookner is premiering a film about his uncle Howard Brookner -- who, of course, made the documentary Burroughs: The Movie. It looks terrific and uses a bunch of archival footage that includes WSB. The film has a website where you can check out a trailer for the film. http://uncleh...

Re: Paul Lund Article.

Really fascinating piece, Graham. Video of a 1961 interview with Paul Lund is one of those things the Burroughsian in me never thought he would see.

'7768 - Burroughs, Wm

There is a new small book called '7768 - Burroughs, Wm which features a series of photographs of WSB (mostly) smiling. It's a nicely published little volume with a brief intro by Victor Bockris. Check it out at

Re: CUNY: Lost and Found Series

I just want to second Jed's endorsement. This largish booklet contains a bunch of previously unpublished cut-ups drawn from the NYPL archive. There's a particularly strong concentration of cut-ups based on Rimbaud and on St John Perse. It's pretty much an essential volume for anyone who's interested...

You're very welcome, Jim. It's incredibly thoughtful of you to mention the background technical work that keeps the site going. More goodness lies ahead. Thanks so much.

Re: Laura Lee Burroughs and T S Eliot

That's so tantalizing I just spent an hour googling around on it. There is a seemingly balanced piece on TS Eliot's sex life in the New Yorker: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2002/09/30/the-women-come-and-go There is smoke around that fire but no concrete evidence to indicate that Eliot was gay. ...

There's a new exhibition of photographs of WSB at Function Room in London. Highly recommend that you all check it ou...

Agreed, that's a really nice piece. It has been really interesting as well to see Genesis become a sort of eminence grise. Somehow he survived with his principles intact.
